Color block shirts are all over Instagram, make one with us out of one of the most dynamic woven shirt patterns we carry! We’ll be making the short sleeved version of the Sew House Seven Remy Raglan shirt, but once you’ve mastered the pattern basics, you can make it again and again in a wide variety of styles and sleeves.
This class will cover pattern sizing and tracing, basic garment construction, french seams, and hemming. Basic sewing experience required, but no previous garment sewing needed. This is a great first garment for someone who has taken sewing school or mastered the basic use of their machine.
Ages 16+
Class prep: pre-wash fabric
Materials needed: Remy Raglan Pattern and two colors/prints of a woven fabric. I recommend a linen or linen blend, cotton lawn, double gauze, or a woven with some drape like the Kitchen Window ginghams or Fabelism wovens. Three quarters to 1.5 yards each of the two fabrics, depending on your size. Thread to match. One button. 2 yards of pattern tracing paper. A marking tool such as a frixion pen or chalk. Your sewing machine.
Materials are not included in class cost, but students will receive a 15% discount on class supplies purchased at Sew to Speak
