Calling all parents, grandparents, and other grown ups making gifts for the kiddos in your lives! Look no further than the Buttercup bear! This class is a perfect introduction to sewing stuffed animals. We will go over all the basics of sewing and stuffing your soft little friend, as well as stitching the face on.
Ages 18+
Level: Beginner – Must know how to operate a sewing machine. If you need help with this prior to class, you can book a 1 hour private lesson with Nat to go over the basics.
Before class:
-Purchase all supplies
– Purchase pattern and cut out all paper pattern pieces
-Cut out pattern in your chosen fabric
Materials Details: (materials are not included in class cost, but students will receive a 15% discount on class supplies purchased at Sew to Speak)
– ⅜ yd fabric. Linen or cotton is most suitable for this project. Heavyweight and knit fabrics are not recommended
– 1 skein black embroidery floss
– 1 embroidery needle (needle with large eye)
Students will need to bring the following supplies:
-Sewing machine (Machines are available to borrow. Please call the store ahead of time to reserve if needed).
– Embroidery needle (needle with eye large enough for embroidery thread to fit through)
– (2) 1 ¼” D rings
– Chalk or marking tool
– Sewing machine needles
– Pins or wonder clips
– Matching thread and bobbin
